EU Signs Space Connectivity Agreement with Norway and Iceland for IRIS² and GOVSATCOM

The EU signed a formal agreement on March 26, 2026 allowing Norway and Iceland to join GOVSATCOM and IRIS², the EU's sovereign satellite connectivity programme. The deal gives both Nordic countries access to secure satellite communications for crisis management, government operations, disaster response, climate monitoring, and air and maritime navigation.
