EU and Switzerland Sign Landmark Bilateral Agreements Modernising Single Market Access

EU

The EU and Switzerland signed a comprehensive package of updated bilateral agreements (Bilaterals III) on March 2, 2026, modernising one of Europe's most important partnerships. The deal smooths access to the EU's 460 million consumer market for Swiss businesses, aligns rules across transport, free movement of persons, and mutual recognition, and opens Swiss universities to EU students without additional fees.
