Microsoft × Mistral AI — Multibillion-Dollar European Sovereign AI Expansion

Microsoft committed billions to fund Mistral AI's data centre growth across Europe, integrating Mistral's frontier models into Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio and Azure. Azure customers can develop software using Mistral's France-based data centres, powered by thousands of NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs. Mistral Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 are now live on Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio. The partnership enables deployment across public cloud, hybrid and fully disconnected sovereign environments, targeting 1 GW of Mistral compute capacity by 2030.
