SAP × Prior Labs — €1B Acquisition to Build EU Frontier AI Lab for Structured Data

SAP agreed to acquire Freiburg-based Prior Labs — an 18-month-old German AI startup and pioneer of Tabular Foundation Models (TFMs) built for structured enterprise data. SAP committed to investing more than €1 billion over four years to scale it into a globally leading frontier AI lab, operating independently. Prior Labs' TabPFN model has been downloaded 3M+ times and set state-of-the-art on tabular benchmarks. One of Germany's largest-ever venture exits, with founders receiving over $500M in cash.
